This past weekend, I was downtown with some friends to check out the farmer’s market and arts festival. I love the atmosphere of downtown Wilmington on a Saturday morning, it’s just refreshing.
One of the artists in the arts festival immediately caught my eye. I enjoy art but don’t love it, and there is some art that I just appreciate more than others. But I was immediately drawn to Ronald Williams’ artwork.
All his work is done with water colors and pen and ink but the attention to detail is amazing. His talent combined with his ability to realistically capture local scenes just sets his work apart from others. Examples of his coastal art include boats at Wrightsville, beach scenes, lighthouses and more.
My favorite is a water color titled Large Fish (similar to the above pic) because it’s a montage of ahem…large fish that are found in the Atlantic around here. I do plan on purchasing the print sometime soon and I’m pretty sure Justin wont argue with my choice.
Anyhow, I definitely recommend checking out his website and looking at his work…especially if you live in eastern North Carolina.
