I think Justin has sensed my excitement for the “Queen of Kings” King Mackerel Tournament this coming September because he went half on a brand new Shimano TLD 25 for me to use when king fishing.
The TLD 25s are known as very versatile reels for saltwater fishing…and it’s an ideal reel for king fishing.
It came in the mail sometime on Monday and that evening Justin already had line on it…how cute!

I am so jealous. I love North Carolina fishing. We spend a lot of time at Surf City pier and the Jolly Roger pier on Topsail Island. Enjoy yourself.

@ReelZoo - Thanks! I’ve heard a lot of good things about the reel. It seems pretty versatile. I’ll make sure I get a nice pic during it’s first trip to the pier.
@Calhoun - I love fishing and I love North Carolina. I’m still trying to get a handle on the fishing. Much different than freshwater! I’ve never fished the piers just north of Wilmington but I have been meaning to check out Jolly Roger. I’m a big fan of Ocean Crest…and the nicest people in the world fish at Sunset Beach Pier.
